South Tyneside September meeting report

Hi Everyone,
First Meeting of the Season this afternoon for South Tyneside Branch of Northumberland and Durham FHS at St Hildas Centre South Shields.
First afternoon meeting where we were able to welcome members returning after lengthy absences.
A lively and wide ranging discussion including H.M.Marines Resources, Movement of families, Irish and RC history, and several more spin offs into strange areas like politics(with a small "p"), WEA, and publicising the meetings more.
After we closed the meeting most of us repaired to the Green Room at the Custom House for excellent tea/coffee and scones.
Our next meeting is at 1..30pm on Wednesday 21st October where our speaker will be Wendy Stafford talking about "A Scottish Soldier in Wellington's Army".
